Salmon Capital Pickleball Classic Shines in Campbell River

The Campbell River Pickleball Association welcomed 153 players to the inaugural Salmon Capital Pickleball Classic Tournament, turning August 29-31 into three thrilling days of pickleball competition. Across six courts and 11 events, an impressive 292 matches delivered nonstop action, sportsmanship, and outstanding play.

Participants were also treated to stunning medals, created by internationally renowned Indigenous designer Corinne Hunt, celebrated for co-creating the 2010 Olympic Games medals. Campbell River’s Chantal Rousseau, tournament director noted her pickleball community’s show of “incredible energy and support” at the event’s conclusion.
