LANGFORD, B.C. — 250 athletes will take to the courts at the Victoria Pickleball Centre this weekend for the 3rd Annual Forget-Me-Not Charity Pickleball Tournament, a three-day event raising funds and awareness for people living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Running October 16–18, the tournament is expected to feature approximately 400 games. Players, volunteers and visitors will also have opportunities to connect, remember loved ones and learn about the work of BC Dementia Care Society (BCDCS).
“Forget-Me-Not is about more than the games. It’s a chance to come together, honour the people and families affected by dementia, and support connection, inclusion and dignity in our communities,” said Krista Hill, founder and executive director of BC Dementia Care Society.
The tournament is made possible with the support of its founding sponsors, Owen Williams of Raymond James and Chartwell Retirement Residences. Their support helps BCDCS obtain funds to deliver community-based programs, resources and opportunities for connection for people living with dementia and care partners.
The event builds on the success of the 2025 tournament, which raised $21,131 for BC Dementia Care Society. Funds raised through this year’s tournament will, once again, directly support the Society’s programs and services.
BC Dementia Care Society is a community-based, federal charitable organization. Its programs include Memory Cafés for people living with dementia and their caregivers, caregiver support & connection opportunities, and community education and resources designed to raise dementia awareness, build dementia-friendly communities, and help people live well with dementia.
