Pickleball Hub Coming to Topaz Park

  • March 6, 2025

City of Victoria Media Release

VICTORIA, BC β€” Construction kicks off this month on the second phase of improvements to Topaz Park.

The City is adding an 11-court pickleball hub, a new outdoor fitness area, a central gathering space, a misting station and connecting pathways.

“I’m pleased to see the next phase of Topaz Park improvements take shape,” said Mayor Marianne Alto. β€œThese features invite more residents of all ages to explore and enjoy this new active play space in Topaz Park.”

The construction of a new pickleball hub helps meet increasing demand for pickleball facilities in Victoria and supports the City’s Strategic Plan goal to improve recreational sports amenities.

β€œWe are tremendously excited at the news of the groundbreaking,” said Roger Graves, president of the Victoria Regional Pickleball Association. β€œThis will be a fantastic facility, and we can’t wait to get on the courts.”

During construction, a section of the Glasgow Street parking lot will be closed and traffic may periodically be impacted on Glasgow Street. Park amenities outside the work area – including the skate park, playground and sports fields – will remain open.

Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
