Join us for an exhilarating weekend of pickleball action on six temporary courts set up for this special event! \nVENUE: SEAPARC Recreation Centre – 2168 Phillips Rd\, Sooke\, BC \nPlease Note: The venue has a concrete floor\, and courts will be marked with temporary taped lines. \nENTRY FEES: $60 and $15 per additional event \nTOURNAMENT DATES \nMay 3rd: Men’s & Women’s Doubles \nMay 4th: Mixed Doubles & Mixed Doubles 55+ \nThe tournament will begin at 8:00 AM and continue throughout the day. Specific timing will depend on registration numbers and is subject to change. Our priority is to allow the most teams possible into each category while minimizing bye times to ensure an enjoyable and competitive experience for all participants. \nAll players must be members of Pickleball Canada. \nCreate your account with Pickleball Tournaments before registration opens. You cannot register for the tournament unless both you and your partner have accounts. \nAll registrants must be current members in good standing of Pickleball Canada to play in this tournament. To join or renew your membership please visit the PCO website at https://pickleballcanada.org/participate/individual-membership/join-renew/ \nThe Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust formats\, start times\, or combine divisions based on registration. \nText message match notifications will be enabled. Please ensure this feature is active in your Pickleball Brackets account. \nRegistration Opens: March 1\, 2025\, at 8:00 AM PST \nTournament Ball: Franklin X-40 (yellow) \nApproved Paddles Only: All paddles must be on the USAPA approved list. Players are responsible for verifying compliance here: https://equipment.usapickleball.org/paddle-list/ \nWarm-Up: Warm-ups will not be guaranteed \nArrival: Check-in 30 minutes before event start time; events may begin early if courts are available. \nThe Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse entry to any player. \nEye protection is highly recommended for all players. \nIf a player is wearing clothing or using a paddle the same colour as the ball\, they may be asked to change either item by the Tournament Director. \nUPDATE: With the recent transition to DUPR ratings\, players can now register for higher-level categories regardless of their skill level. However\, the tournament director reserves the right to adjust player registration based on their DUPR scores to ensure fair competition. \nPlease note: Pickleball Tournaments has implemented a service fee of $5 USD per event (maximum of $10 USD). This administrative fee is beyond our control and goes directly to Pickleball Tournaments and is non-refundable under any circumstances.

DESCRIPTION:The Comox Valley Pickleball Association (CVPA) is pleased to host the 8th Annual Indoor Pickleball tournament May 3-4\, 2025 at the 19 Wing Fitness & Community Centre in Comox.\n\n\nApril 7\, 2025 @ 8AM PST\n\nRegistration fees: First event $55 plus a $2.75 Pickleball Brackets charge; Second event $25. Payable through Stripe only via Pickleball Brackets.\n\nAll players must be members of Pickleball Canada. This is a Pickleball Canada Sanctioned event.\n\nThe following Events will be held on Saturday\, May 3:\n>Men’s Doubles Skill 3.5 and under (start time 8:00am)\n>Women’s Double Skills 3.5 and under (start time 8:00 am)\n>Men’s Double Skill 4.0 and under (start time 1:00 pm)\n>Women’s Double Skill 4.0 and under (start time 1:00 pm)\n\nThe following Events will be held on Sunday\, May 4:\n>Mixed Double Skill 3.5 and under (start time 8:00 am)\n>Mixed Double Skill 4.0 and under (start time 8:00 am)\n>Men’s Double Skill Over 4.0 (start time Noon)\n>Women’s Double Skill Over 4.0 (start time Noon)\n>Mixed Double Skill Over 4.0 (3:00 pm)\n\nEvent Rating Description:\nMen’s/Women’s 3.5 and under defined as: skill rating up to but not exceeding 3.5\nMen’s/Women’s 4.0 and under defined as: skill rating up to but not exceeding 4.0\nMen’s/Women’s 4.0+ defined as: skill rating of 4.0 and above\n\nFor both Saturday and Sunday events:\n• Format will consist of round robin play\, with two pools of six teams for most events.\n• If pools are full then teams are guaranteed five games\n• Round robin games are scored first to 15 points\, win by 1.\n• Playoff round 1: Pool A #1 vs Pool B #2; Pool B #1 vs Pool A #2\n• Playoff round 2: Winners of round 1 play for Gold / Silver; losers for Bronze\n• Gold medal games are to 15 points; win by 2\, or first to 19\n• All other playoff games are to 15 points; win by 1\n• Only Gold medal games will be refereed.\n\n \n\nNote that event formats may change depending on registrations.\nEvents are open to players aged 16 or over (no additional age brackets).\nType of rating: Self rating.\n \n\nIn level 3.5 events\, both players on a team must self-rate as 3.5 or less.\nIn level 4.0 events\, both players on a team must self-rate as 4.0 or less.\nThe Tournament Director reserves the right to exclude players or move players up or down into different Skill levels.\n\n\n \n\nPool Standings are determined by the Number of Games Won. If two or more teams are tied the tie break criteria are:\n \n1. head to head winner\n2. point differential for all matches played\n3. head to head point differential\n4. point differential against next highest team.
