Shangri-Law Introduces Pickleball Youth Summer Camps

  • March 10, 2026
kids at a pickleball camp

This summer, a new generation of athletes will be stepping onto the courts across Greater Victoria to discover one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.

Shangri-Law Pickleball is excited to introduce Youth Pickleball Camps (ages 8–12)—designed to help youth learn the game, stay active, and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Whether your child/grandchild has never picked up a paddle before or already loves hitting the ball around, these camps make learning pickleball exciting and accessible.

Across parks and recreation courts in the region, youth will spend their mornings moving, laughing, learning new skills, and making friends—while discovering a sport that’s easy to learn and incredibly fun to play.

Camp Locations & Dates (Summer 2026)

All camps run 1 week each (Monday–Friday), 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Colquitz Middle School Gymnasium (District of Saanich)

  • July 6–10
  • Aug 10–14

Topaz Park (City of Victoria)

  • July 13–17
  • Aug 24–28

Centennial Multi-Sports Box (Panorama Recreation)

  • July 20–24
  • Aug 17–21

Archie Browning Sports Centre (Township of Esquimalt)

  • July 27–31
  • Aug 24–28

Camps are offered in partnership with the City of Victoria, District of Saanich, Township of Esquimalt, and Panorama Recreation.

What Kids Will Learn and Experience

Each camp focuses on building both skills and confidence while keeping the atmosphere energetic and playful. Campers will learn:

  • The fundamentals of pickleball: serving, rallying, and scoring
  • Footwork and movement to feel comfortable on the court
  • Teamwork skills through partner play
  • Beginner strategy and shot selection
  • Fun pickleball games that keep everyone active and engaged

Campers will also participate in mini tournaments, team challenges, and skill games, experiencing the excitement of friendly competition in a supportive setting.

Led by Passionate Local Instructors, Level Two Certified by Pickleball Canada

Camps are led by Eric Law and Amy Woermke, who bring enthusiasm, encouragement, and a love of the game to every session. Our goal is simple:
Create an environment where kids feel confident trying something new, improving their skills, and having fun with other young players.

Why Parents Love Pickleball Camps

Pickleball is one of the most accessible and social sports for young athletes. It encourages:

  • Physical activity and coordination
  • Confidence and resilience
  • Social connection and teamwork
  • Outdoor play during the summer months

Many kids who try pickleball quickly fall in love with the game and continue playing with friends and family long after camp ends.

Camp Details

  • Ages: 8–12
  • Skill level: Beginner to early intermediate
  • Equipment: Provided if needed
  • Group size: Small groups for personal attention and maximum fun

Spots are limited for each camp to keep the experience engaging and active for every player.
